Termination Order
The coal mines allotted/ vested to successful allocattee can be terminated on account of failure of the successful allocattee to adhere with the terms and conditions/timelines provided in the Coal Mine Development and Production Agreement (CMDPA). Further the mine may also be surrendered/ relinquished by the allocattee as per the provisions of the agreement or the guidelines issued by Ministry from time to time. Ministry of Coal had also issued the guidelines dated 09.05.2022 for providing one-time window to allottee Government Companies to surrender non-operational coal mines and some of the companies surrendered their non-operational coal mines.
Till date, Nominated Authority has allocated 181 coal blocks. Out of the said 181 coal blocks, 26 coal blocks have been terminated / surrendered. Details of terminated / surrendered coal mines is as under :-
